    Strawberry Banana Yogurt Popsicles

    Strawberry Banana Yogurt Popsicles are the perfect summer treat, but double as a healthy snack! The kids love them, and mom and dad sneak one sometimes too! They're super simple with just 4 ingredients, lightly sweetened with honey, and homemade popsicles take just 15 minutes to make!

    Ingredients & Substitutions

    Incredibly simple ingredients here, just fresh fruit, yogurt for extra protein and a touch of honey for sweetness!

    • Strawberries - Perfect for summer strawberry picking, but great year round, the naturally sweet strawberries are the main flavor in these yogurt pops. You could add or swap some of the strawberries with other kinds of berries too! Try this Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce, this Strawberry Blueberry Salad, and Strawberry Cucumber Salad too!
    • Banana - A perfect filler for homemade popsicles, there's always a banana on my counter and they give these popsicles a smooth consistency.
    • Yogurt - I use Whole Milk Plain Yogurt, which is what I always have on hand, but you could substitute vanilla or strawberry flavor. We stick with plain yogurt and flavor it ourselves with honey, berries and Homemade Granola. It's also an ingredient in my Protein Pancakes, makes great dips like this Parmesan Herb Vegetable Dip, and is a substitute for sour cream on tacos or chili.
    • Honey - Buy local raw honey if you can, it's healthier than store-bought! Plus just a drizzle of honey eliminates the corn syrup, sugar and preservatives found in store-bought popsicles!

    Instructions

    Quick and easy, just add everything to your blender, mix it up and freeze!

    Step 1 - Slice the tops off your strawberries and cut them in half to measure 2 cups.

    Step 2 - Add all ingredients to a blender.

    Step 3 - Blend until smooth.

    Step 4 - Pour into popsicle molds and freeze overnight.

    Step 5 - Run the mold under warm water to release the popsicles.


    Helpful Tips

    • Variations and Hidden Veggies - This recipe is a pretty basic blueprint that can be altered to your liking. You could replace half the strawberries with blueberries or blackberries for purple popsicles. You could also add in a few pieces of another fruit or vegetable like plums, peaches, mango, melon, cherries, or a few slices of carrot would be pretty undetectable!
    • Extra Popsicle Mix - Your popsicle mold may not be the exact size as mine, but extra popsicle mix can be blended with a few ice cubes and served as a smoothie, or frozen in jar or container and eaten with a spoon like ice cream.
    • Serve Anytime! - A popsicle will often hold my kids off when they are starving an hour before dinner's ready! Since they are healthy, we use them way more than dessert! With protein from the yogurt, they make a great addition to breakfast or a snack anytime!

    Recipe FAQs

    Can I make these popsicles with frozen strawberries?

    Yes, you can make these popsicles with frozen strawberries or a frozen banana. You don't really need to thaw them, but frozen fruit can be hard on your blender. You may want to let them sit at room temperature in the blender a bit before you're ready to blend your popsicles.

    How long will these Banana Strawberry Popsicles keep in the freezer?

    These Strawberry Yogurt Popsicles will keep in the freezer for about 4 months.

    Can I turn leftover smoothie into a popsicle?

    Yes, any leftover smoothie can be frozen into popsicles! Try my method for everyday smoothies with The Smoothie Bucket!

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups strawberries
    • 1 banana
    • ½ cup plain yogurt
    • 1 Tablespoon honey

    Instructions

    • Slice off strawberry tops and slice them in half to measure 2 cups.
    • Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
    • Pour into popsicle molds and freeze overnight, or at least 6 hours. Enjoy!

    Notes

    • Variations and Additions - You can substitute some or all of the strawberries with other berries like blueberries, raspberries or blackberries.  Or add in a few pieces of peach, mango, melon, plum, cherries or even carrots.
    • Extra Popsicle Mixture can be blended with a little ice and served as a smoothie.
    • Adjust the Honey - You can use more or less honey, depending of your desired level of sweetness.  I found 1 Tablespoon to be just right!
    • Yogurt - I use whole milk plain yogurt but you could use vanilla or strawberry flavored if you like.  This may add extra sweetness and you may want to adjust the honey.
